Who is going to set them up for you? A local dealer or someone else? While I've played around with positioning and they sound very good, I can't help thinking that a pro familiar with setting up Strads could result in even better sound.

Thanks Dave,
I read about you getting your Strads dialed in. I usually have my local dealer setup and dial in my speakers, but since I’m not buying my Strads from my dealer, that can’t be done. Instead, Ivan has a friend who lives in my area who is going to take care of the setup. Ivan speaks very highly of his friend’s ability. After I spoke with him, he told me that he won’t leave my home until both he and I are happy with the sound of my new Strads in my listening room. |

Thanks. My room is a bit difficult, but all speakers have sounded good in there including my Amati Futura, and I imagine that the Strads will be no different.

...Joining in with recently purchased 35th anniversary pair.
I see a lot of opinions and comments but like to follow the idea of "A lot of power + a lot of current make them sing" Appreciate if anyone can specify highlighted wording in figures? By the time being looking at Pass and McIntosh as like their way of delivery and as such considering: i) Pass Labs 350.8 ii) Pass Labs 260.8 iii) McIntosh MC601 iii) McIntosh MC2301 (300W at 4 Ohm). Would it make it? iv) McIntosh MC452. Pre-amp will be the one to match power amp / mono(s). Listening session is quite challenging to organize... Last edited by SergeiK; 10-19-2020 at 01:21 PM. |

I use MC2301's with mine which is what I preferred over my MC601's.

However, if you can handle the upcharge the D’Agostino Momentum S250 with Momentum HD preamp really make my SF Aidas sing. Steve Z

Thanks for the notes. D'Agostino is possibly the best one money can buy however the upcharge is three times the 260.8 price so way over my budget this time...
