My wife was born & breed on a Farm. She would be playing with the spring Lambs before school, then have them for dinner that night- no problems- tasty!

The family farm of approx. 50 acres had at one time 20 Charolais cattle -- but normal herd was 10-12. Used primarily for breeding & selling & some kept the freezers full.

Sold 'em all a few years back when they were getting too feisty and finding ways to get out of the barbed wire fencing after storms -- trees felled and thus opening a way for them to escape. (My father-in-law's passing meant myself and my wife -- living 90 miles away and my wife's brother, who lived next door to the farm, tended to them -- he visited daily feeding 'em the good sweet stuff now and then as a treat, but being handicapped, he couldn't maintain the fencing & necessary upkeep on a daily basis).

We were really worried a 2,000 pounder roaming along the back roads would cause an accident and get someone hurt or worse. It didn't help them any after receiving a couple sheriff calls late at night. That sealed their fate.

Great memories of them -- especially newborns.

Best

Bob

As an Argentine, I can assure you guys that watching pictures like this excites me even more than an Esoteric Grandioso stack. I like Charolais but for me Aberdeen Angus nearly approaches po.rn.ographic levels

Some places will let you shoot the one you pick.
My sister always had a problem eating a steer or lamb we raised (we grew up on a farm). Never a problem for me. Lamb shank for lunch 2-days ago. Yum!!

When I was growing up, my older brother was working at a local meat locker and on numerous occasions he was able to bring home various prime cuts for the family to enjoy. My father was quite the cook and had the grill on full flame for some wonderful meals. I also was able to visit my brother on various occasions at work and was reminded of that 70's Stallone movie...

Thank you!

I have to check to see if they sell in my area because Crowd Cow doesn't sell near me yet.
