Awesome score Don! At $50, it’s cheaper than a few Manhattans on a Friday night.

Radio arrived today.

This things has a heft I did not expect, built like a tank. Radio reception is very poor compared to my old iHome radio which is ironic considering the radios name. But when I could manage to lock on a station the sound was very good!

Radio also makes a popping sound when turning on the radio and when the alarm goes off (radio or buzzer).

So given the issues I’m sending it back. If it didn’t have the popping issue I’d mess around with some different antennas but both issues together is a deal breaker.

I might look for another but I’m now a bit hesitant.

I have one of those tivoli radios but not the alarm clock one. The sound is good but very bass heavy. There is a bass port on the bottom, so depending on surface material the sound can change a lot. We have it in our kitchen and use it every single day. Good little radio.

I like the looks of the Tivoli but don’t like that the alarm clock/clock runs off battery power. As for being bass heavy I’d prefer that over thin and hollow.

I didn’t realize the alarm clock is battery, your right that’s lousy. We have ours on a kitchen counter and the manual said if too much bass put something soft under the port. I folded a couple paper towels over about 5 years ago when I got it and they are still there. It really does a nice job filling the room
