Serge, just saw this thread. Great system! Love that your cat made you know that all is fair game.

Curious to see the rest of the room...

Hey folks, I did a few changes in my setup lately.

First, I wanted to stick to bookshelf speakers but I wanted to get some more bass out of them. Sooo, I went for the Totem Mani-2 Signature speakers. They are now sitting on top of Target MR-24 stands. I would have preferred the Totel T4L but they are hard to come by and quite expensive.

Next, I added some jumper cables. I purchased the Kimber KS 9033 to go along my KS 3033.

As you can see in the picture, the jumpers that were in place were, humm, underpar...

So far, I have been quite satisfied with the Mani-2 Signature bass response. This is what I was looking for. However, as usual, I filled the stand with sands all the way up but I found the bass is lacking a little bit compare to what it was before I filled them up. Is there a rule of thumb when sand filling the stands? Like 75%, 50% filled? I guess I will have to try to find out, ah!

Ah ah, the rest of the room is a disaster! In fact, my house was built in 1983 and the decor of the listening room is, well, dated. What you don't see is a bar behind the listening area.

Right now, I am currently building a laundry room in the basement, I will install a air exchager unit and parallel to this I am updating the bathroom upstairs. It is quite a mess in the house so I manage to keep the listening room (well, the front of it) clean so that I can lay back and relax when I am tired of those renovations. Once clean up I will post pictures

Well you are doing a good job there, these pictures are so clean and uncluttered. I just love them.

Honestly, no I didn't considered the SHL5. Many people report that the difference is not that big when compared to the 7ES-3. And, I like to try new things haha. It is been a while I wanted to try the Mani-2 Sig.

I find however that the Mani-2 sig do not sound as "natural" as the Harbeth. The Harbeth sounds very natural and the tonality seems more accurate. In my case, I prefer deeper bass so the Mani-2 sig suits me more.

Staying with Harbeth, I would go all the way for the M40.1. I believe that the Mani-2 are my last bookshelf speakers. I started with B&W705, then Harbeth 7ES-3 and now the Mani-2 sig. Ultimately, I would like to acquire the Verity Audio Parsifal Ovation. But my next upgrade is most likely to be SF Cremona M.

Yes, I am a big fan of Kimber Kables. All people who come at my house drools at them. I have another pair of Monocle XL sitting in its box. They are for sale if someone is interested ;-)

Serge, that pairing between a 252 and the Mani-2s must sound great. I remember how amazed I was listening to a pair years ago, the detail and resolution was incredible coming from such a conservative enclosure.

The Mani-2 Signature paired with the MC252 does make a nice match in my opinion. That depends always on the volume level you are listening. In my case, I often hit 60% on the volume of my C46 and at this point, the MC252 seems saturated because the needles of the meters are hitting a bit below 250W. Because of my listening habits, I believe the MC452 would be better suited. And the Mani-2 Signatures are known to be power hungry so now I understand. With the MC252, looks like I have not much reserve above 50% volume which is where I like to listen to music (i.e. loud!)

But, soundwise, these Mani-2 Signature never cease to impress me. With the right gear, they throw some bass that is difficult to believe from a such small enclosure.
