No access to public bathrooms is a crime the homeless are guilty of? They have biological needs like everyone else. 5 man poop patrol and $12 Million dollar budget to clean up the streets is what the Mayor proposed. Let’s chase the poop instead of installing portapotties or similar.

5 employees
$12M per year

Sure...that makes sense. No fat in that budget to trim....(sarcasm off [emoji1787])

Build public restrooms and maintain them...more expensive sure, but actually addresses part of the issue

There is a lot of truth in Jeff Daniels opening "speech" in Newsroom. One of the best few minutes of acting on TV in the last few decades.

It would be impossible to address the root causes of this issue without becoming politically sensitive. Suffice to say it's far more complex than a lack of port-o-lavs strewn about the city.

Atlanta put in these public restrooms in some places, don't know what the rhyme or reason as to where they are, but they're there. They look like bomb shelters......big square silver buildings. One is of course in the Buckhead bar district so I can only imagine the number of times that's been thrown up in. Here's a picture I found of one. I don't know if he knows for sure, but a buddy of mine that lives down there told me they cost $350,000

$33,000 a day? Difficult to say.

What I really wonder is how long before the cost of "free" syringes surpasses what is spent on sanitizing the streets...if it hasn't already.
