Default Older omega stereo experiences!!

Hi guys
My first Classe was a CA-400 in black to which I traded towards a Simaudio 7ch Titan.Years later found a deal on a CA-300 and about a month later a matching CA-400 all silver. These amps were reasonably priced and also very powerfull and great in a HT system to as they can easily be switched to mono into a 4ohm load.
Throughout all of these times,I dreamed of getting a Omega stereo(1999 version) but never had the money.I realize the new mono's are better but also 12 plus thousand on the used market which I am not ready to spend.

Has anyone had one of these bad boys before.
thanks

Although I have never owned the original Omega stereo amplifier, I do have quite alot of first hand experience with it.

The particular amp I have heard many times was driving either B&W 801 S3 speakers or the big Dunlavy IV. In each case the amp drove the speakers effortlessly and with great authority. I would use terms like "smooth" and "refined" to describe its character.

The preamplifier used was an Audio Research 2 piece unit, the model escapes me.

Without question the Omega stereo is one of the finest amplifiers built to date, and it will most certainly drive any loudspeaker to perfection.

Just don't try carrying it up and down stairs.

Rick.

Hello

I do not understand, why they stop to produce more powerful stereo amp, like the CA-401 and others.

The current models CA-2300 and CT-2300 are both 300W rms into 8Ω
As if they say- you want more power? Go for the Monaural Amplifier...
