Ha Julian, you'll never dislike it!
Not possible, this symphony is simply too beautiful.
And this version of it can compete with the best.

We saw this ensemble live this evening.
Nice concert with Bach's Magnificat and some Pachelbel and Kuhnau works.
This is on the Ricercar label, now they are recording for Alpha. They must be doing something good.

Second listen.
Good stuff.
Very decent sound also.

Lodewijk Mortelmans

Playing this again.
She does have a good voice, and the piano playing is very attentive.

Default Respighi: Roman Trilogy

From the Dutoit / Montréal Decca box...

Respighi: Pines of Rome, Fountains of Rome & Roman Festivals
Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Charles Dutoit

A very nice recording of these colorful pieces lavishly performed by the OSM and Dutoit.

Listened to this recording so many times, I feel that I should despise it, but somehow it isn't working. Maybe if I play it a couple of hundred more times I will accomplish my goal . . . but until then . . . I'll just play it over and over, and over and over, until I just positively can't stand it any more. . . . . UGH!!!!!

Thank you Julian, for giving me a goal to which I can aspire. Let me know if you get there first.

Telemann - 12 Fantaisies
Héloïse Gaillard, flutes

Take away one instrument from this recording and you end up with... complete silence!
Amazing recording.
And Telemann is absolutely one of my favourite baroque composers.

A classic. The performance is superb and the all-male choir sounds excellent to my ears. The icing on the cake is the excellent recorded sound. Yes, this is a winner.

Recently added this set, which includes Hogwood's 'Messiah' which I agree is 'the one to have'
