Dan,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on the Rat Shack project boxes. Mine looks very similar to yours.

Rob.......Very good. Once my hour meter reaches the hours on my amps I'll get it off the 9V battery and plugged into my MC2301 Trigger Out, then set it behind the amp on the floor. It will make tracking tube hours much easier, and the reset feature is just what the doctor ordered when the time comes for tube changes.

For those interested in a boxless solution.

A. 1 x 150mm (6") length 6mm (1/4") shielded 4 core microphone cable doubled up.
B. 1 x cable pants to suit 6mm (1/4") cable dia.
C. 1 x Viablue 6.5mm dia plug or plug of your choice.
D. 2 x 6.5mm copper spades female
E. 1 x cut 100mm (4") x 6mm (1/4") Techflex Flexo Conductive Braid. (Best to use a hot knife). You can use plain PET if you are not particular about a 2nd layer of shielding.
F. 6mm heatshrink

A 6 inch overhang will ensure enough clearance over your racks without touching anything.

This hour meter must have an extremely low milliamp draw because I am still on the original 9V battery I connected it to when I began logging hours on the meter.

Yep, You can just sticky tape the meter onto a 9v battery & it just ticks over...Sure to get a few thousands of hours of wind forward time on a single battery. I was even running 2 off the same battery.

Steve.......I like it. If you don't need the reset feature, that idea certainly makes for a clean and efficient installation.

Dan...I'm wanting to upgrade 3 to the reset feature. It is better than sticking dymo labels all over them to keep pointers! I think Ivan is doing a bulk buy....

Not fussed about a button, I'll just short the 2 prongs when I need to reset.
