Guys,

For whoever owns and uses the DMP -have you had any issues with its interfase namely the operation of the touchscreeen, a certain irresponsiveness, stuff like that? Read about such issues on the PSA forums but honestly I don't know how "bad" it is.

Anyway a new firmware is said to be adressing this but I am not entirely sure.

Thanks Jim! Looks like "I need one" and Ivan happened to have a good price for it, only hurdle in my case is having it go through customs to my country of residence which makes it much, much more expensive.

Discussing it with the Missus (read begging, pleading and even promising to have audio purchase sex ha!) to get authorisation as we speak

Just by her something of comparative value (which makes this hobby even more expensive).

The new software for DMP is underway in the PS Audio skunkworks. Long time in coming, hope the wait is worth it. Feeling good in anticipation.

From reviewing messages on the PS Audio forums, it seems that people who have installed the "interim update" have reported better sound quality!

In the past, when I've installed the "bleeding edge", I've sometimes paid the price for that...so I'll wait until PS Audio has a new version of the firmware, available for "general release" and install that version.
