You'll need a beer by then, and maybe some beer battered flathead fillets along the forecourt in front of the Sydney Opera House... Good plan :-)

+ the Mye or sound anchors are a definite...

Have fun in the meantime...

my first reaction was that these new feet will make it harder to do the " blue tape position marking"

Now that I think of it, you'd better make it 6 months.

By the way, my 20.7's came with the T stand. Special Note: One of the first things I noticed was the upgraded T stand from my 1.7's - Much thicker steel with a nice beveled edge pattern - heavy - sturdy - seemed quality - expensive(?).

I will assume changing the stands from steel to mdf is reducing their cost. Regarding the look, I prefer my beveled steel stands, especially with cherry wood and cloth (hiding the mdf/other). Perhaps Magnepan still offers these steel stands should you want them.

I guess I'll have a look in person at the new stands....maybe keep them as they are. Aesthetically I guess they may be considered to be a bit better looking, but I'm not convinced I won't want the "heavy metal" ones back.

I'll give Magnepan a call tomorrow just to inquire about availability and cost of the old style. I'd made a few pairs of those feet for my 1.6s and 3.6s..so if push comes to shove I could do that again. (the ones I'd built were massively heavier and stronger than the stock T-bar feet)

I think they make the speaker look a bit classier/richer. It's a more finished look. When I ordered mine my wife made sure we stipulated that they were to have those stands.

The "T-Bar" feet are available for $82 + Shipping. The Magnepan person I spoke with said no-one has yet complained about the new feet, and if someone for whatever reason wants a set of the old ones also, they can be ordered.

For only $82 extra, one could have both feet and swap 'em as desired.

That's good to know - Thanks for checking into this Rayooo.

I would have made the base out of solid wood - same wood choices as trim - add cost to wood trim package.

I have thrown Anaconda Python and Cobra signal and power cables, Cyclops Power conditioners, gone from Wireworld Silver to Platinum USB cables, put in Supreme tuning fuses and those intriguing Quantum chips throughout, gone up on cable elevators and gone without resistors for attenuation and gone up on sound anchor stands and one thing is for sure... The 20.7s just keep showing me they are the strongest link in my system, whatever happens upstream just flows out through the Maggie's completely unattenuated... in 30 years of owning proper audio components I have never had a piece of gear that makes me happier... Im convinced that you could throw any level of reference gear at these and be rewarded by the 20.7s ability to just shine through... am in a constant state of unconditional audio love with my speakers, and the way they sound I know they love me back... Ray and Greg enjoy.
