BTW, the topic of this thread is Shunyata interconnects, not power cables, so you might want to consider starting a separate thread with your impression, just so folks don't get mixed up what type of cable is being discussed.

Cheers,
PC.
I apologize Puma Cat .. I didn't noticed the topic thread :-(

Ps: btw I can't open a separate thread probably cos I don't have permission

No worries! I think when you get past some number of posts, like 10 or something, you can start to create your own topics.

I received my Venom interconnects 4 days ago and have been playing music about 4-8 hours each day.

Out of the box my first impression was all about how the highs from about 4500 khz and above were clearer and more forward than with my Synergistic Research Synergy Twin Decors. I was pretty happy.

On day two the highs were beginning to be a bit of a bother. Maybe too forward and sometimes I almost wanted to turn the treble down a touch. But hey, what do I know.

Day three: at the end of the day some magic started to happen. A friend of mine stopped over last night and asked right away if I had bought a new component. When I told him just a couple of cables, he started shaking his head and asked me not to tell his wife.

It was really starting to sound good. Better than good. Really good.

Stephan, aka Mr. Puma Cat has posted a number of reviews about his experience with Shunyata cables. I bit the bullet and found a used Venom USB. It was excellent. About two weeks later I emailed Ivan and ordered the Alpha USB. For me this was big money. And money well spent. I would recommend the Alpha to anybody.

Totally worth it. Every cent. Then Stephan starts this thread on the Venom interconnects. Damn! I email Ivan again and being the cool guy that he is, got them to me in record time.

Today I get up and as always, I make a double espresso. Normally I make three each morning. I'm deeply into coffee, especially espresso.

I made my coffee and began the morning ritual of puttering around. A little breakfast, drink coffee outside and begin to enjoy the day. When I got back into the house I stopped. Stopped cold. The music was better. And not just a little. It had warmed up. The highs were no longer a bit forward; they were perfect. Listening to Brad Mehldau the piano sounded like, well, a piano. Not a reproduced piano, but a real piano. Right over "there."

I'm thinking there must be some kind of synergy between the Alpha USB and the Venom interconnects. I love the sound so much that I email Ivan AGAIN and ordered a Venom digital cable for my transport.

It was an hour or more before I made my second coffee. The third never happened.

At my age, I need to stop when I reach the top of the "S" curve. The Venom interconnects are clearly in the running for best value.

Thank you Stephan for your excellent reviews, but please don't talk too much about the Venom speaker cables.

- Bob

Great write up, Bob!

Really glad to hear your experiences are comparable to mine. I did a lot of listening this weekend, still evaluating Ethernet cables, and I listened to my Venom as the interconnect.

I'm confident you will also really like the digital (coax?) Venom cable as well. Please provide your experiences once you get it and it settles in.

Cheers, Stephen aka PC

Not me, peronally, Char. There might be others here that can provide their impressions. I do know that Shunyata uses a completely different internal conductor configuration for balanced than they do for single-ended cables.

One thing I can add to my impressions review with the Shunyata Venom ICs now that they fully settled and run-in is that they are exceptionally quiet.

What are your thoughts on the Delta EF power cable vs the Venom HC V2?
