I have the BDP-2 quickly hooked up to my QNAP server and it enumerated 14,000 FLAC tracks in no time at all and is extremely reactive to all controls from the MPAD on my iPAD. Love it Very happy. And it has blue LED's! Many thanks, Chris Last edited by James Tanner - Bryston; 03-06-2013 at 07:49 AM. |

Hi Chris
I am curious as to why you chose bdp2 with sp3 rather then bda2 with sp3, which is what I went with. I connect the bda2 to a Mac mini using a USB cable. My Mac is fan less using ssd drive and also connected to a qnap nas drive. I chose this setup over the bdp2 because the dac is better than the sp3 dac for such scenarios. Cheers.

Separate system setup for each input?
Hi James, Chris, all...
A poster on another board has reported that the speaker distance, level and crossover settings need to be set individually for each input on his SP3. I have not found that to be the case, or am I doing something wrong? I went through all the inputs that I use and went into the setup menu. All the distances, speaker sizes, and crossovers were the same. But, he reported that when he went back to check his, some of them were not set correctly. Any thoughts or good advice? Thanks.

The SP3 gives you the option of setting all the inputs Globally or Independently in the menu. James |

A tip of the hat to you and Bryston for allowing such a convenient setting.

Have I missed something?
I want completely turn off the 'artifical' surround modes (the ones one can choose e.g. on the player with the cross buttons: ), as I play for 99% direct mode (stereo, or surround which is coming from a dvd or BR). But every once in a while when I choose a two channel signal it goes into a 'artifical' surround mode instead of staying in the two channel mode. I can't see an option to fix it for all incoming two channel signals at once. |
