I try to be both pragmatic and practical. My room won't stand more that a 55" television. My XBR has a HDR (High Dynamic Range) setting from 2012. I've always known that resolution alone does not make a television. You have to factor in whether the television can display true blacks rather than dark grey, how accurate the colors are, color gamut, etc.; not just resolution. Many of these new technologies are just marketing. I don't succumb to marketing for self preservation sake; my wallet. Even now, I cannot convince myself to buy into Atmos when I don't hear object based in real life. Back to 4K, its nice, but unless I had room for a much larger screen, I don't have a compelling reason to want it. I might get an OLED television one day as soon as the burn in problem and other issues are resolved. Right now, I am just enjoying my software, and I thoroughly enjoy my SP-3, and other Bryston products. I am now awaiting the return of my Bryston digital player, the BDP-2 that I upgraded to the BDP-3.

Dave, I just saw photos of your room with the new speakers. That is one nice spacious room with warm earth tone colors. The SP3 looks really elegant. Beautiful looking system all and all that I bet sounds killer. What is the silver amp in the middle? Did I see a power conditioner?

Is that the photo on the Bryston images thread? That is one old photo. Those speakers are the kit speakers I built several years ago. The silver amp is a Parasound Halo. I forget the model, it's the larger 5 channel amp.

I am mostly all Bryston now. I'll have to update that pic. You'll see a very big difference.

Thanks, James.
I'll post these in the Bryston Pictures thread when I get a chance. It's the same room as I posted pictures of a few years ago, "upgraded".

It sounds good, but I think a few too many early reflections from all that leather furniture. Not much I can do that would pass muster with Mrs Moonhawk.

Well, to echo James, Wow! I thought the other photos of the room were great, but the new photos are stellar. The room looks very inviting. Its not too cluttered but just right. Is that carpeting on the floor?

Yes, carpeting. Some of the cabling runs behind that paneling, which I made and installed myself, and which is a new addition.

We've ordered new furniture, and I'll update photos on the Bryston picture thread once it arrives.

I can make out some of the equipment, but not all. Any chance for a full list?
