These are great tips. I listened to Beck's Sea Change Mofi album today and it was absolutely sensational.

Nice....You are on your way. I also recommend the reissues of Peter Gabriel I-IV, as well as So and Us. All are 45RPM remastered at 1/2 speed and are glorious, So as an original issue is well done, but now its brilliant.

Buy as much Vinyl as you can! Seriously though ... I've had great luck finding great used vinyl here in Dallas and have grown a nice record collection over the past year starting from scratch after my entire older system and LP's were sold as part of a divorce years ago and I just got back into Audio 2 years ago.I have a VPI record cleaner and some older Vinyl is just too far gone even if it looks clean on first inspection to save but my failure rate is around 2-3% of stuff I just won't play. Also a quality used shop will generally let you swap out seriously damaged records but that varies by store. I just picked up a really old Pat Methany album tonight that sounds brand new and its anything but for sure! Good Luck!

^ Good point....If you jump into the used arena, a RCM is vital. I have the ProJect VC-S machine and very impressed with it.
