Tonight I had some free time so I had some fun with the Alpha NR and my Entech. For a baseline I plugged the Entech into a standard 15amp outlet in my listening room and adjusted the gain to as close to 100 as I could. See first picture. I then simply plugged the NR into the same outlet, not connected to anything. See picture two. Then it was time for the NR on the Talos plugged into a dedicated 20amp line. Picture three is a baseline plugged directly into the 20amp outlet, picture four the Entech is plugged into the Talos. Picture five in the Alpha NR hooked firmly into the dedicated 20amp line.
In the original post I want to make clear the measurements were taken during the mid day and the junk on the lines tonight was very strong. I was pulling in a radio talk show and could make out the conversation very clearly. I'm going to take another reading tomorrow mid day in hopes of attempting more of a apples to apples comparison to my original post. Now, lets get to the sound.
I cannot say the difference was profound but the needle did move a little in a positive direction. Bass seemed a little faster, background a little blacker, vocals a bit more forward, and just a bit more detail. What was most evident was the perceived volume. A definite increase in gain since I last listened to the system, I hadn't touched the volume over the last few listening sessions. Was it worth the price of enrollment (MSPR of the Alpha NR is $1500)? For the most part I'm inclined to say yes.

With respect to possible upgrades and comparisons with other Shunyata products the following data may be of interest to some members. Using an Entech noise meter, on my specific power line noise spectrum, I received the following results using a Alpha HC as an input power cord on a Triton V2 and again after upgrading the V2 to V3 status. I used the full dynamic range of the Entech meter by carefully adjusting level knob to obtain 199 to 199.5 (just before the overload point) on my raw power line. The Alpha HC and Triton V2 consistently yielded a value of 2.1 to 2.2. Assuming (may be a big assumption) that the output of the Entech meter is linear this would correspond to a 90.7 times reduction in noise, which would be about a 39 dB reduction. I measure this performance multiple times on different days and times of the day. I purposes did this testing before I sent my Triton in for update to V3 status. Measuring the Triton V3, with similar 199 to 199.5 power line noise level, I consistently get an Entech reading of 0.3 to 0.4. Again, if we assume the Entech output is linear, this would indicate approximately a 6 times improvement in the specific noise spectrum that I have on my power lines with the V3 Triton as compared to the V2 Triton. This would be an additional 15 dB to 16 dB over the V2 Triton. This means the Triton V3 with Alpha HC input cable achieves a 54 dB to 55 dB reduction in my noise spectrum, within the bandwidth that the Entech measures. Note: The Entech meter only measures "differential" line noise (noise between the power lines) and does not measure "common mode" noise (noise between power lines and ground). Hope this helps....
