Paul.......When I scanned over the Oppo UDP-205 webpage and specifications I missed the fact thet the UDP-205 no linger streams, particularly Netflix which I enjoy. That dampens my enthusiasm. I am still pleased with my three older Oppo players, although I wish my BDP-95 in the studio was fanless.

For any of you that are waiting for this unit I seriously think the wait will be longer than expected. They are still working out all of the "bugs that are in the 203 player. They now realize that they rushed it to market and essentially have the end users beta testing. I enjoy my Oppo BDP-105 and occasionally have to deal with the drawer freezing up. Other than that it streams just fine, which new unit won't and sounds fantastic. If you want the absolute best resolution and picture on playback of 4K material the Panasonic player is better. This was shown on YouTube in a side by side comparison.

I just received an email from Oppo with a special link that I can order the new 205 today. Since it can't stream I am not ordering it.

I never purchased the BDP-105D, although I am positive I could be just as happy with it. I am curious how the new ESS 9038Pro DAC's sound in the new UDP-205.
I meant the price, Dan.
Seems cheaper than the 105. But then again, I'm in Europe where Oppos are 30-40% more expensive.

I'm still using my BDP-95EU, and am happy with it.
The fan doesn't bother me, I only hear it when there is no sound coming from the system.
But my wife wants the 95, so I'll gladly upgrade next year.

I did too.
But this pre-order is only for US customers.

I really think I should pull the trigger and get this, price is similar to the 95 and less than the 105, and I see it does have 2 HDMI that I need, and even HDMI in as well.

I like one HDMI for Audio only and one for video to bypass the MX150 etc. Still has all the other surround rca, xlr etc as the 95 too.

Anyone else going to jump on the new unit?

OK on order direct from Oppo. Guess come early May the reports from others and reviews will come in to AA

A little bummed too about the streaming as well, but most all new TVs 4k etc have that built in, and I can always connect to the TV via my laptop to stream as well.

I mainly want the fan less and 4k support and new unit, I thinking that the new dacs and power supply should offer better sound. I will move the 95 to the upstairs TV to replace an el-cheapo DVD/Blu-Ray player and then this would go into my rack with my other gear and newer TV etc.

I am still in holding on the 4k set but will do a TV double switch move at that time as well.

Yep, I got my email with the link to pre-order the Oppo UDP-205. with an estimated ship date of Friday, April 28, 2017. I'm going to wait now. Earlier today I picked up a BDP-105 on Agon for $800.00. It will go in the studio HT system, and I'll move the BDP-95 to the living room television, the BDP-83SE to my office, and the BDP-83 to the bedroom. The Sony BDP-S560 in the bedroom will go in the closet for a spare.

Terry.......Probably not a bad idea. Let the first ones prove their reliability, then pick one up.
