Jérôme.......Thank you. The vintage system now sounds good enough that I wish I had one more room in my home to set it up in. The travel trailer only allows for near field listening, but none the less it sounds damn good. In my younger days, all if my music was experienced for years on Altec and JBL speakers, and their particular sound still does it for me. Not surprising to me, the JBL 4312A's easily reveal the sonic improvements that the DAC2 produces. Even after 23 years of playing music, the 4312A's still can boogie.

Randy.......Thank you. Hearing Pete's comments (Vintage Pete) after he acquired the DAC2 and began using his MCD7009 as a transport, I knew I would have success doing the same thing using the JVC XL-Z1050 as a transport. With every review I read, there was nothing but high praise for the Wyred 4 Sound DAC2's performance, so the leap of faith in purchasing one was not difficult. What astonishes me is how much overall sonic improvement it brings to my vintage system. If the vintage gear with the DAC2 was my only system, I would be happy as a lark with the sound I am now getting.

My new Wireworld Oasis speaker cables arrive today. I am confident they will provide a cleaner signal transfer between the Tandberg 3026A power amp and the JBL 4312A speakers, so I am looking forward to getting them installed as soon as they arrive. I am really digging my vintage system.

My five meter pair of Wireworld Oasis speaker cables arrived today. They are considerably larger diameter than I had anticipated. They are too large to be able to route into the overhead cabinets in the Holiday Rambler travel trailer, so I pulled the components out, stacked them for the time being on the table in the kitchen/dining area, and wired everything back up. The Wireworld Oasis speaker cable is very nice, 10 gauge, terminated with silver clad copper spades on both ends, and flexible enough to work with easily.

I am going to let the new speaker cables burn in for the next 4 days continuous, and then give it some critical attention. My first impression is the Oasis sounds excellent. As a matter of fact, so does my entire vintage system. I am truly impressed.
