In other words, let Purepower do it if I don't want to mess around with the tabs?

If you feel more comfy not messing inside the unit then yes let PurePower do it.......They do not provide the upgraded outlets only the install of them at the time they build the unit. Its up to the dealer and customer getting the upgraded receptacles to them.....Since I carry the Oyaide, Furutech and WattGate its easy for me to get them what they need.

And wtb just to share, by changing the stock fuses to audiophile grade fuses make pretty significant improvement, mainly better dynamics, lower noise floor, and cleaner resolution.

On the 1050, there's an internal fuse (T10A 32mm for the 240V version)

And for the 2000, there are 2 external fuses on the back panel, and 1 internal fuse. (2 x T10A 20mm + 1 x T12A 32mm for the 240V version)

The fuse ratings are different for the 110V version.

Warning: note the stored power in the APS even when not connected to the mains. As a safety measure, fully drain the battery before opening the unit, by simply unplugging from the mains, and connect a lamp or electrical device to the APS till it runs out. Also as an added measure, upon opening the unit, unplug the black/red connections to the internal battery before touching anything else.

Have tried the MC2301 on your PP 2000? I'm wondering if it has enough juice for the MC2301 w/o compressing their dynamics.

It not that bad. I opened mine like 10x already, and I'm still alive LOL.

BTW - for those that haven't done it, I strongly recommend replacing the stock fans with sth better. The fans that are provided by PurePower are rated at 23dB, and you can get ones as quiet as 7dB. This is what I did, I got Noctua fans and I installed them using special resilencing silicone grommets put under each screw.

Noctua:
