Yep, I am using two TP-Link FMCs between my EoP Adapter in the dining area and the audio rack; a 7 M run of Tripp-Lite optical fiber cost me all of....$16. An Audioquest Diamond Ethernet run that long would cost...$7400. Sorry, AQ, but no.

More goodness; most likely due to the power supply. But at over 4 grand, I won't be going there.

Super Dave O.

Wouldn’t you want a dedicated clock with the SOtM switch versus coming off the main system?

Thought is a setup would look like this:

Clock > Switch > Gigafoil > Component

Versus the clock at the component having to back track to the switch?

Yeah, that's the config I would think would be optimal.

Default Any SoTM users here?

Good question. I think this depicts that route better. (Sorry to attempt to be Tommy technical)

Clock ————
I I
Gigafoil - Switch - Streamer/DAC

OR

Clock ————————
I I
Switch - Gigafoil - Streamer/DAC

I don’t think a clock is in the signal transmission line in this case.

Side note:

SOtM translates to “Soul of the Music”.

I got the SOtM hooked up last night. My G-01 clocks the SOtM with one of the 2 10mhz outputs and is powered by an Uptone Audio Ultracaps 1.2 LPS. My goal is to bring streaming audio as close as possible to spinning cds. Last night was the closest I've come. The SOtM presents music with better flow and more dynamics. Streaming always seemed a little flat compared to the cd player but now sounds more effortless and natural.

I have the SoTM SMS200 Ultra with the SPS500 and I'm very happy with the combination.

I'm using Roon Rock to store the music and the SMS200 is feeding into a PS Audio DSD.

I previously had a mac mini with a LPSU. I can't say how much of a jump it was as there was a lot of changes to my system but there is nothing lacking for sure. For the price this could be the best solution out there.

PS: I agree that their naming convention is very confusing and I wasted a lot of time making sure I was getting the right hardware.
