Default Better AND worse sounding albums after upgrade?

Hello,

I recently bought the B&W 803 D3 and I have really rediscovered my music collection. I am curious about if other members have experienced that some albums are really shining better after their upgrade (like I do) and some albums actually sound....worse...?

I was expecting that all my albums should sound better, but - when I think about it - can it be so that my new speakers are revealing bad recorded music and demanding better source material i.e better recorded music?

Of course, the absolute majority of my music sounds absolute great and most albums are really taking off better with my new gear...

Best regards,

Johannes

Johannes.......Your experience parallels many others who have reported the exact same thing. Your new B&W 803 D3 speakers are obviously allowing you to hear much more of the recordings than your old speakers allowed. Consequently you are now accurately identifying differences between recordings you previously were not aware existed. In some circumstance you will find the improved resolution welcomed, and with some recordings you will now notice the flaws. This revelation is not uncommon with new speakers. It is also quite common when new amplifiers, preamplifiers, and source components are introduced into a sound system.

Have fun! It's all part of the game.

You have just described "the curse" of the high end system.

I have a number of recordings that I listen to over and over in my car but can't stand in my home systems.
