Congratulations on the new 611,s . I received a notice from McIntosh a month or so go on the release and was wondering when someone would show up with a pair. Please give us your impression and love the Bassocontinuo racks. First I heard of them and looked them up very nice offerings.

Wonder if you could hear the difference between left and right channel if you put let say the MC611 on the left speaker and MC601 on the right speaker.

Take this with a huge grain of salt because my listening to the MC611s and the MC601s occurred years apart.

I recently was in Denver and stopped by ListenUp. They had a 2 week old pair of MC611s driving some SF Il Cremonese. They sounded very, very good. Detailed, powerful and brought out plenty of presence; however, compared to my memory of the MC601s they were a bit more neutral and possibly even harsh in some regards.

Part of it may have been that they were not fully broken in and the other large part might just be that when I heard the MC601s it was truly one of the first times I had ever heard that "McIntosh sound". So I would also be super interested in a direct comparison between the 611s and the 601s.

Congrats on the amps BTW

Thank you for the input. I am still waiting on cables to come in to actually start listening. It’s actually killing me haha. I have never listened to the 601’s in my system so it will hard to give a true comparison between the two of them.

I honestly really love the rack! The price since I purchased it a year ago has gone up quite a bit as I had to add another shelf. Only negative about the rack is once everything is built and out in the rack you can’t move it at all or shimmy it.

Thank you for the kind words. I will be using B&W 803D3’s. I really wanted the 802’s but they did not fit where I am placing them. Once it’s all set up I will definitely post a bunch of pics.

Agreed. What a rambling mess of writing that was and the review was the same.
