Now I am just dreaming..... They say variety is
the spice of life. If you had the opportunity to buy a new pair of Olympica I speakers or a pair of used Guarneri mementos which would you buy? I guess this is a silly question since no one has probably listened to the Olympica I yet. Is the Guarneri Mementos still considered higher up in the line?

No silly question at all.

My guess is that the Guarneri Mementos will eat Olympica I as a starter all week long.
Guarneri Mementos is still very good despite it's older construction.

Hard to say without hearing them actually.

The tweeter is an in house designed derivative version of what is in Aida. The woofer is designed in house - Olympica drivers are the first designed from scratch by Sonus faber (other than those in the Pagani project).

The longitudinal port is an original Paolo Tezzon design. That and the asymmetrical cabinet are completely new to Sonus faber.

The stand is a scaled down version of what is used on Guarneri Evolution.

I suspect that how successful these design aspects are will have much to say about how Olympica I compares to GM.

Tommy I won't know for sure until I get to play with them. First Olympica I was shipped to some dealers last week so it shouldn't be long.
