Default New turntable by Mark Levinson

I think it's smart of Harman to partner with VPI rather than investing in reinventing the wheel. That said, is it smart for them (Mark Levinson) to release a TT at that price point? We shall see.

Based on the description, I believe they are using the VPI ADS packaged into the motor housing. Mat, Harry or Mike at VPI had mentioned their will be three ADS variants available, a Goldilocks assortment. The current $999 shipping ADS is the middle one. I'm willing to bet the integrated ADS for the ML table is the based on the upcoming entry level ADS but I could be completely wrong.

This sounds like what Harman did to Lexicon - putting an intact OPPO disc player inside their sheet metal enclosure and selling it for 5 times more than the plain old OPPO.

Lotsa profit in sheet metal these days.

Darn turntable looks nice though . . . and, just think, *** ONLY*** $10,000 plus tax, shipping. and handling

And I used to be an all Mark Levinson stereo person - everything but the turntable, that is. Now, I can do Mark Levinson EVERYTHING.

Trying really hard not sound like a internet troll or be a hater because i have supporrted the VPI brand for quite a long time. I'm just not sure how I feel about all of this rebranded VPI gear, discontinuation of some really great tables and some of the most recent changes in plinth materials. Maybe it's just me..

Those darn Millenials! I agree with the change in direction that VPI is heading...not sure I like it.

The ML TT looks the part, just beautiful and fits with the image of their other components.

They are following in the footsteps of McIntosh with rebranding. Although the McIntosh has more of an in house look compared to the ML.

I bought one day before yesterday. I like the electronic speed change and the gimbled arm. The test performed on HIFI NEWS was very complementary, and if I operate it with fewer belts after a break end period the table will be as quiet as the Prime signature. Now as long as they didn't change the diameter of the platter the warp ring from VPI should work. Seems like VPI and Levinson have gone there separate ways according to a e-mail I got from VPI yesterday. OH! I forgot to say I got a heck of a deal. I am going to be using it with a Dynavector. OH I'm keeping my old Thorens TD 125 just in case. Don't forget VPI is helping Mcintosh with a table, too. Now if VPI would make a linear arm.

If anyone could build a practical linear arm, VPI would be the company to do it. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

CA makes (made?) some very nice linear TAs. Was hoping Ivan would put a TT5 on his new DD VPI TT so we could read about his experience.
