Default Joe Grado-

Saw a report of his passing, although the Grado site does not reflect this.
He was quite influential on a number of fronts, and his company, a 'local' one, was able to make the transition to changing listening trends and demands for gear with aplomb and without big budget advertising- lot's of credible products came from that shop over the years.

There was another thread regarding this topic.

It was Joe's FATHER who passed away.

We better nip this in the bud before we have another "Paul McCartney is dead affair" like we did in 1969.

I think that's right. Apparently, his grandfather, and Joe's father (Angelo) passed on; again, i apologize, i picked this up from a couple of sources, but those were mistaken and now appear to have been corrected as well.
May Joe and Jon live long, and RIP Angelo.

This from Jonathan's Facebook page:

Sadly my grandfather and my dad's dad passed away. He was an inspiration to both of us. Besides the love of family, he also loved singing and painting, which he made his profession for over 50 years. He was a Brooklyn boy who loved to travel, meet people and teach all who were interested in learning.

My Grandfather led a happy life doing what we wanted and with the woman that he loved for 70 years by his side. He had family and friends who loved him and whom he loved back. His last meal was one of his favorites, vanilla Haagen-dazs ice cream. I don't think he could have planned it better.

His paintings can be viewed on the Grado website, just click the button Angelo's paintings.

Just want to clairfy this a little-
Joe Grado is still alive, he was the founder of Grado Labs. His brother Angelo, who has nothing to do with the audio business, died at the age of 92.
Angelo's son, John Grado is the one that took over Grado Labs and is the creator of all the newer Grado headphones. Jonathan Grado, who made the facebook announcement, is John's son and Angelo's grandson. When he talked his grandfather's passing, he meant Angelo Grado.
There have been many internet articles announcing Joe's death, which is not correct.
