I have that album.
When you crank up 'Glorious Percussion', it sounds quite, ahem, glorious...
Very powerful piece.

Unless for some reason our flights are cancelled, this weekend my wife and I are flying to Amsterdam to join Hans Beekhuyzen and his wife at the Concertgebouw concert hall for Mozart's Requim, Sunday, February 25th.

I discovered Hans when I was perusing Youtube for videos on digital audio, check out his Youtube channel, I think you'll enjoy his series.

Classical music fans say the three best sounding concert halls in the world are the Musikverein hall in Vienna (enjoyed a Mozart concert there), Symphony Hall in Boston (enjoyed Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Boston Symphony, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto), and the hall in Amsterdam.

Default What Classical Music Are You Listening To Tonight?

Making my way through this six-disc box set...

Johann Christian Bach: Complete Keyboard Concertos

The Hanover Band, Anthony Halstead

Six discs of previously released material compiled in a single box. Three discs feature the harpsichord and the rest use pianoforte. This music blend sound German technique with Italian fluency and grace. My favorite so far are the "Berlin Harpsichord Concerti". The CPO label recorded sound is clear and vivid and the Hanover Band performances are top-notch.

Now enjoying the pianoforte concerti. They remind me of Mozart's which is to say very good. The CPO recorded sound adds to the musical pleasures here.
