Default What Live Music Are You Listening To Tonight

Wrapping up two weeks on the island of Hawai’i with the way we started, more live music. Tonight it’s slack-key guitarist John Keawe. Wonderful playing and a pleasant family-style experience in a nice local pub in the town of Hawi. John plays and sings, accompanied by his wife and two granddaughters dancing.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Ravel's Bolero was the final piece. Been decades since I've seen it performed, and it was fun to watch as each musician began playing as the level rose, and how the strings migrated from being plucked to played with the bows.

I had bought the tickets 8 months ago so couldn't anticipate that it was during the Ohio State-Gonzaga NCAA tournament game, so I was checking the score on ESPN periodically on the phone. The guy next to me was checking it out over my shoulder too.

The Bolero live is always great fun indeed.

We attended a jazz concert in London yesterday.
I didn't expect too much but David Sanborn had an absolutely great band, and he himself was in great shape.
A nice evening.

What an evening! We are sure to listen to other recordings of his band members in the days to come....

I actually streamed some tracks this morning in London BEFORE breakfast (thank you Tidal, thank you Qobuz - and many thanks to our internet provider too: for the fast and stable connection we have at home!)
