great gun....yes, but what is the barrel length ? anything more than 26" would not be ideal for grouse.

Yea, it'll be a 26" as he expressed a desire for a short barrel.

The lack of an action makes the break-open guns shorter than the others anyway. 26" is pretty much standard in most field guns, not that those Pigeon grade guns could be considered 'field guns'. Personally I prefer a little more tube just because of the better sight picture it gives me at distance, but that's something I developed on the trap fields.

I was always a Browning guy myself but I had friends who shot Beretta. Never knew any to have any problems.

Sending my 30" 20ga back for the second time this next week. When the upper barrel is fired first it refuses to reset and fire the lower barrel. Same problem that they were supposed to have repaired last year.

agreed Tex but 'distance' is not part of the equation when it comes to partridge hunting, hell there have been plenty of times when I couldn't even swing my 'short barreled' 20ga Citori with a flush off my left shoulder !

Lunchy, did you ever get that Silver Pigeon I? While the various gas and recoil driven semi's are outstanding, I still love my Silver Pigeon. Something about a nice O/U that just makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time I shoot it...
