They're deeply discounted at Music Direct at the moment if interested.

Yep, I snagged a pair a couple months ago. Even got Bob Carver to sign them to me -- he made them especially for me.

Any issues with the amps bring discounted so much? Warranty? Parts? Future support? Were they over priced?

First thought: this must be like B.C. #7 now. Second thought: wow, look at that 700 stuffed with 40 (f-o-r-t-y) KT120! Subsequent thoughts: Just 100 lbs. per side for 700 Watts of tube power? Pentode configuration?? 20 years warranty, including tubes??? Someone might possibly have a screw loose here, just sayin'...

On the website it also states:

"When I finish building your unit, I will show up on your doorstep myself, if you wish and if that's OK with you, install it, and perform any adjustments that are needed to make it sound just right. This applies to speakers and amplifiers alike.

I would love to take you to dinner, talk about all things audio, and after that, listen far into the night with all sorts of music and speech. If you change your mind for any reason, you get your money back, no questions asked at all. Take all the time you want (within reason).

And we will both have great memories, no matter what."

WOW!!!

Default Scalable business model?

That is, I would say, a business model that doesn't scale!
