I have that very same issue having just connected my Sophia's for the first time. They seem a bit strident in the highs to me upon first listen, which has taken me a bit by suprise.

Chadhaas,

Yes, i agree, when i had a few hours on the S3s a few months ago, they can be a bit overwhelming on the highs. I had listener fatique a few times and my friends heartily agree.
But I now have over 400 hours in them & no glare, no harshness at all....
I think its more of a break in issue.

I found the same thing, for the first 100 to 150 hours the tweeter did seem a bit hot and it did concern me a bit as well. However, that did go away and man do they ever sound good now. It does take about 400 hours to fully break them in.

How are they sounding now after more break in time? Also, have you made any changes in placement?

Thanks for posting the pictures of the crates. This method of packaging seems superior to how the Sophia II's were packed and probably makes it a lot easier to "repack" in the future if needed. Nice looking room!
