Default Problem with Dectet
Hi everyone and I hope maybe you'll be able to help. I've owned a PS Audio Dectet for 4 or 5 months now and have been having problems with the unit.

Along with loose hardware (extra nut/lockwasher) floating around in the unit when it was delivered, I've had at least monthly instances where I've found that the units blue logo was flashing on and off and the power to my system had been dumped. This is disconcerting because, among other things, the power to my DirecTV receiver was lost and I am loosing recordings, etc.

When these interruptions occur, there was no weather in the area and there have been no indication that anything is wrong with the input AC power. I say this because I have two APC ups systems connected to the network monitoring the power and their logs don't show any glitches or other anomalies. Also, only very limited power was being drawn from the Dectet as only the low level standby current from an MX-150, 3 CD/DVD players and the DTV receiver were drawing power.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I hope to not have to send the unit back to PS Audio for diagnosis/repair.

Very simply... just have your dealer get you a brand new one. I have had mine for months with no issues.

BTW, if something was loose inside when new, why did you still keep it?

Joe.......Loose parts rattling around inside is never a good sign. I agree with Ivan, return it to your dealer and ask for a replacement.

I purchased it directly from PS Audio via mail order and, after I informed them of the noise and the fact that there was a "spare" part inside, they said to not worry about it. I guess I'll have to send it back to them in any event.

Not at all. In the future I will look to you first. BTW, what is your policy on failed items? Do you cross ship or would you have to wait for the failed product to get to you?

I am having the same problem with my Dectet. What was your outcome and did you get it resolved?

I had the exact same issue you describe. See my posts here. Seems we got two bad apples from the same bunch...

I have one with the same problem of being found off with a flashing blue light. It seems to be getting more frequent lately. I probably need to send it off soon for an update but want to wait for a final fix to avoid more shipping than necessary.
