Source components and the preamp are powered from one PPP, and all are connected with their own two meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cords (except the MR85 tuner). The two MC501 amps are powered by the other PPP, and both amps are connected with their own two meter Wireworld Silver Electra power cords. All interconnects are balanced Wireworld Silver Eclipse cables except the MR85 and the Micro Seiki DD-40 turntable. They are connected with unbalanced one meter Wireworld Silver Eclipse interconnects. That's the package here.
That's definitely a serious package. I'm working with too many limitations to have a setup like that. Still, PPPs are on sale, and though it would be a real stretch to get one even with that (my 501s, bless their hearts, took a huge chunk of money from the bank), I had an idea of replacing my Tripplite LCR2400 with one and seeing if it made a difference. To do so would mean no aftermarket power cords anytime soon, using stock cords and standard extension cords instead. As is, the sound is nice, the background's pretty quiet, I have plenty of inputs (the LCR has 14). On an absolute level I probably don't need a PPP, but curiosity is strong due to all the testimonials I see here and elsewhere.

prepress. I'm in that one with you, I wish I could add a PPP into my system, but I guess
I prefered updating amp and preamp first and join the Mc crowd. Those two have been
a huge improvement in my system. So far I have managed to convince my wife the
"investment" that they represent, but probably I've done enough big updates for the
year. The improvements were strong so I'm very happy, but I can sense that a PPP
will push them even more. Maybe next year I'll do so.

I checked the video from the OP and everything makes sense -- I tend to agree that
all these little details add to the pleasure of listening. One quote I believe was spot on
was when the presenter mentioned that with all of the updates (power conditioner,
power cables, interconnects, isolation support and so on) the brain has to do less
since the audio has less artifacts and distorsion and this leads to more listening
pleasure and less fatigue. However, the price on many of these items are on par to
the amps, preamps and speakers and for me it's a little hard to justify them.

Ivan, thanks for the offer. I'm not sure if I can stretch it this time. Even if I'd do
something crazy, it'd have to be black.

For how long has the PPP being ran? It seems like a very solid product to be
discontinued. The replacement is going to be even better.

According to PS Audio's website, it was released in 2006. Any replacements will cost more, to be sure. But presumably they will do more, also. I believe masterlu/Ivan posted about this in another thread: $2500 and $4500, or something like that.

I recall CES 1999 when I was still with SoundStage!. Nordost had a demo there they were switching ICs between IIRC their Flatline, Red Dawn, Blue Heaven and Quattro Fils. They had a CDP and integrated amp for the demo. They would play some music, then turn the amp off, switch a different IC then replay the same music at the same volume setting, etc. The differences were evident. I attended this demo three times and heard the same thing each time.

Cables make a huge difference, when all else is in place. But, IMHO, cables sould never cost more than the speakers/electronics.
