I understand your thoughts are on this as well.
Which amplifier can replace MC1201 best to get speakers to sing properly and fit my sound ideal, there are my thoughts now? So inputs from your experience are appreciated. This even though I have a few favorites in mind. Quote:

I have always found Macintosh equipment to have plenty of the bottom end, it just lacks control and real detailed texture. Most of my country men tend to prefer, tighter, cleaner and more rhythmical correct bass. Compared to our cousins over the pound who usually have much bigger listening spaces and softer furniture so require bigger bass drivers and amplifiers to fill said rooms. Here in the UK rooms tend to be smaller, though more are of a solid block or brick construction which gives a different frequency response in the lower registers. Anyone who has owned a pair of Wilson's in a typical UK sized room will attest to this! My CR-1's are in a room which is a fair size larger than your R-1's byZan and they fill it beautifully . The R-1's reside in a different room which is 55' by 33' and they can stretch their legs in there. I did not realize TAD had a Swedish distributor, did you hear the R-1's with the M2500 or M600's in the shop byZan?

This dealer is a very professional and active dealer i Sweden and the single dealer in this part of the world who sell most TAD products!!! He is situated in the countryside in a small village, far away from the bigger more populated parts of Sweden and he is the only dealer. Still his products get's sold all around Scandinavia. Sounds unlikely, I know. It probably also has something to do with the products themselves... It's not hard to demonstrate how good they are. TAD has extreme good reputation in Sweden. I have never heard anyone say a single bad word about them. And that's rare for a brand.
Perhaps, I'll be a lucky R1 owner some day.

Hello Ivan
I have owned the R-1's longer than the CR-1's, both to me have their own strengths and deliver music in effortless manner. As far as I am aware there are two of us in the UK with both TAD reference speakers (outside of Air studio's), and a few other CR-1's owners. Apexorca That is refreshing to know that good dealers are still very much in touch with the public and are actively promoting their products. I did actually audition TAD at a dealers in another clime and I have to say even TAD sounded just quite good, the room and supporting equipment were not a good match by any means. As byZan is not around at the moment, how far did the dealer have to travel to install the new MK II's at his home. I suspect due to the demographics a good few hours traveling was involved on his part, remembering when the R-1's were installed it did take a few bodies to obtain the correct position and unboxing.

I do not want to reveal it now, I'll wait until I have got home the new set to reveal what it was, but I promise to write what and how it turned out.
