Chord Dave, one of the best DAC's around ?

Thinking to pull the trigger on the new Chord Dave DAC.

Only hold back I have is the new MQA encoding/decoding, hopefully some more clearity on that in the near future.

Still on the fence, both QX-5 and Dave have no MQA available, if MQA turns out to be really good for streaming Tidal (which it seems like), I might add a Meridian DAC to the list

I don't have the Dave, but I got its baby brother, the Mojo for Christmas and am very happy with it.

I've had the opportunity to listen to the Chord range - from the Mojo to the Hugo TT and to the DAVE recently.

All against my PS Audio DirectStream DAC.

I felt the PS Audio was still a more engaging and detailed and imho better sounding DAC than the Hugo TT but that DAVE!!! It was truly a stand out.

My only gripe is that it doesn't have a way to play SACDs - only that it will handle higher DSD rates than the PS Audio.

I had the opportunity to hear the DAVE yesterday. It sounded as good, if not better than my Esoteric K-01X.

I will need some more listening time to fully analyze the situation but there may be a new piece of gear in my audio room very soon. (Just when I thought I could take a short break from my OCD-fueled purchases!)

I've only heard good things about the DAVE. Very nice and unique looking bit of gear.
