Don.......Thanks for the reply. I have seen the brown and tan ones but particularly like the color of yours.

Raising cables away from the ground plane reduces and/or eliminates this interaction. If the floor in your home is elevated from the surface of the ground on footers and wood joists, or a second story elevation, then there is little to no interaction between ground and any electrical induction from a cable. In those circumstances I believe cable elevators are unnecessary.

I can demonstrate this with one of my electric guitars. If I have my Fender Strat plugged into an amplifier upstairs where the floors are wood on joists, I can lay the guitar on the carpet with the amplifier energized without any induced noise coming from the amplifier. It remains silent. On the other hand if I am down in the studio where the floor is a poured concrete slab on grade with wire mesh in the concrete and covered with a foam pad and carpet, I can not lay my Fender Strat on the floor while plugged into an energized amplifier without a strong hum coming from the guitar amplifier's speaker. As soon as I bring the guitar away from the floor by four or five inches the hum disappears. Laying the guitar back on the floor causes the hum to immediately return. The coils in the guitar pickups induce a magnetic field around their surface that interacts with the grounded floor. This is where I believe cable elevators can produce positive results. I am not concerned with my line level interconnects because of their low voltage but my speaker cables would probably benefit from being raised from the floor's surface in the studio system. I think I need to consider using cable elevators to lift my Silver Eclipse speaker cables off the floor in the studio.

I have always admired the porcelain cable elevators.

These are what I use, and am very happy with them. Running a tri-amped rig can lead to a rats nest of wiring, but these improve the sound, and keep things organized as well!
Regards,
Jim

I don't hear any improvement in sound but I like the way they look better than just lying on the floor without the elevators.

I don´t use lifters my self but when visiting a hifi buddy we did some testing with and without Shunyata lifters. I recall a slightly tighter bass with the lifters (concrete floor in basement). What SQ benefits have you heard?

I have been testing the newer Shunyata cable elevators. They look good and are much better built than I thought - based on pictures.

A bit difficult to discern differences at this point. I just had my Triton upgraded to V2 as well. I'm hearing the system sound more open with more detail. Bass has never been a challenge for the Alexias in my room and, at this point, the bottom end sounds as good as before.

I suddenly remembered that one of the isolators had a label on its underside. They were made by a company named PolyCrystal. StereoTimes -- Innovative Audio’s PolyCrystal Systems
