Personally, I would be very very surprised if E-600 is a model change from E-560. The E-600 is most likely a further refinement of the E-560, but not a model change.

Accuphase has also claimed that E-560 is a model change from its predecessor, the E-550. In fact, lately they claim this almost every time they release a new model. I have no idea why they keep on doing this, especially since immediately after they make this claim they start to talk about AAVA which was introduced in 2002 or so. Very lame advertisement given their status.

To not be misunderstood I should also add that I am a big Accuphase fan and currently I own only Accuphase electronics. What I have written above is one of my biggest complains about the brand.

Welcome nvp

Accuphase is just doing what any other brand is doing. Every change is a major change, otherwise who would buy a product with the statement that it is a minor change ? It's just marketing and we're all aware of that.

antipop, thanks for the welcome! Of course, it is just marketing, but IMO they could do a much better job.

bvdiman, it is nice to meet you here. I do plan to hang around as I am very happy to find this Accuphase forum and all these Accuphase aficionados. Accuphase owners are a rare breed on Audiogon.

I noticed the E-600 is now on both Accuphase's Japanese site & the International site

for some gut feeling reasons i like the bar-graph volume read out now, and did not when the A200 introduced these. i know, A60 had these too.
DP620 is on my personal horizon since i'm huge SACD fanboy.
pity Accuphase is two times price in EU comparo to Nippon market.

Did not quite like the bar-graph too initially, but in time, it slowly grows on me. Watching them play kinda made me reminisce of my old beloved decks from the '80s.

So, while no longer sporting the classic meter look, definitely still got that throwback allure to it. Easier readability with greater accuracy from afar is also an added plus.

That unit almost makes me want to start a second system just to have it in my home.
