Melco Storage
I've just set up my new Melco N1-A
Wow what an improvement in sound. Hooked to my Moon DAC by USB all my files sound better than I've ever heard them. DSD and Hi Rez are fantastic my ripped CD collection sounds great. Setup was relatively easy, mine has 4 terabytes of storage. Price was $2100 CDN One of my best purchases! IMG_3162.JPG IMG_3163.JPG Last edited by jdandy; 04-10-2017 at 12:54 PM. Congratulations, it's a great streamer, which control app are you using ?
I got even more improvement by adding a Uptone USB Regen (connected to a Devialet 200)

I'm using the Arcam control app tried the LUMIN but couldn't get it working with my apple devices. Arcam seems ok. I do have a regen and will try it. Thanks for the advice. |

Congrats, I love mine as well. I really like the ability to rip CDs with the upgraded firmware. I use the Arcam app as well. I have tried a couple, but this seems the most stable.

I just got one as well to play all my local Hi-Res. I think I will still keep my Aries for Tidal and such...but this bad boy will connect directly to my Vega via my Curious USB for all my PCM/DSD goodness!

I just put in a preorder for the N1A/2. Looking forward to replacing my current PC-based Windows 10 music server I put together myself. While I got it to sound very good, Windows OSs tend to become bloated and slow after a couple years. The Melco being a dedicated streamer shouldn't have that issue.

The N1A/2 arrived a couple days ago. I have the USB output to my DAC set up. Definitely an improvement in sound compared to my optimized HP Pavilion I've been using for a few years. Top end sounds similar, but the midrange is slightly more detailed and the bass much more so. Definitely worth the purchase price. This makes me wonder what the twice-as-expensive top end Melco units sound like.
