Default Bluetooth device Recommendation

I’m looking for a good but not too expensive Bluetooth device I can hook up to my McIntosh C2300 Pre. I don’t have DAC but this will do for now.

Well............ what do you want this "BT device" to do for you? They can perform all sorts of functions.

The Bluesound Node 2i is one option to consider. It can play music on your network, internet music services like Tidal etc, or attached USB device. It’s also Roon compatible.

It has a built in DAC but performs best with an external DAC.

Since it’s an iPad and iPhone you want to play music from, why not find an Apple Airport Express? It uses AirPlay instead of Bluetooth which would likely sound better. It also allows for both analog and digital out should you want to tie it into a DAC. I think Apple quit making them about a year or two ago, but they’re available off of eBay for very little money.

Also, insure your BT devices use one of the new BT codecs, which have much higher fidelity. AptX or better.

This...
It really works very well and affordable, if you can set it up so it powers up with your system, not necessary but convenient. I think you’ll be very happy, I was.
