Hey guys. I did receive the Thor finally this week but being down with a nasty cold blocking my ears (!) i was not able to complete my setup just yet. I will post more details on my impression soon with lots of nice pictures. As it became quite clear though that the thor dont work their best when beside the speakers like. My old rel setup, we had tout them against the back wall in the corner which make sense of course but which also change my room acoustics as i had to remove temporarily two corner acoustic panel to fit the thor in the corner. I think this placement will help the room acoustic overall but when i make an upgrade like the thor, this is when i realize my system/room is a complex ecosystem! There is no doubt the thor goes deeper then my 6 REL and they also feel more "controlled" but i have not yet found the perfect tuning setup with phase, cross over frequency, volume, etc... As they react very differently from the rel.

.... And for now i use the MC2KW for the Thors and the REF 750 for the Aida. Still lots to explore on the amplification front, just like for the acoustics. I also have a pair of MC601 as a loaner to try but early test suggest a big difference in favor of the MC2KW. Now i know this seem obvious but was not expecting the impact on the thors to be so big between the MC2KW and the MC 601. Afterall, it is only for sub 50hz frequencies and i though with volume control i could compensate to neutralize the difference between both amp. As you can see, many new angle to consider...
