Great pics. The Vox looks so inadequate now size wise

I was thinking you could use your former surrounds for sides but judging from those pics it doesn't look like your room is really large enough for a 7.1 setup.

Why not?, even better he can do ATMOS and put 4 on the ceiling pointing down, since I am sure there is a lot of room available for that.

The Futura's are quite close to the sofa already in their good 5.1 surround location and could be moved along the back wall for rears but the pics don't give the impression that anything would fit along the sides of the sofa where side surrounds would typically go. They could be pulled a bit behind thus beyond 90 degrees I suppose.

I'm not sure of the exact size and weight of the Evo's but they may be to large and heavy to try and ceiling mount plus I'm sure they were not designed to be placed in such a position thus severely compromising their performance.

I used to have a 7.1 Klipsch Palladium system in this room. It was overkill and not needed. When I switch to the Sf 5.1, I never thought I needed the 7.1. With what is in there now, there is absolutely no need for any more speakers. Sound pressure and evenness and tonality is sublime.

Scott,
Wow, congratulations! Beautiful upgrade. The new Sonus faber IL CREMONESE are a wonderful addition to an already amazing setup. Enjoy.

It's good you gave it a try in the past and were able to do the comparison.

7.1 is a domestic room size solution as well as a licensing solution.

A properly positioned 5.1 system is always the ideal choice if the room will accommodate correct speaker positioning.
