Why does this harmful to Magico: the burn in tone.
In user manual of my Q , it states that " do not try to accelerate burn in with any kinds of burn in CD , use
Only music to burn in the speakers". Why is that? What would be the reason for this warming? I sometimes used such a CD to burn in other speakers without any problem. But I feel by playing action movies loudly is very effective too. Toga |

A movie soundtrack is fine too.
They probably don't want you feeding it sine, triangular or square waves. |

That is because you may fry the tweeter if you are not careful and set the level too high.
Use the sound of ocean waves instead. Those are one of the most effective, and unobstrusive at the same time (you can leave your system playing overnight withough your family going ballistic). |

Well I use and highly recommend Isotek's System Enhancer cd which does a great job. I read a similar warning in my cd player's instruction manual & contacted Isotek who provided this response -
"It is 100% impossible for our disc to damage any audio equipment, the only what damage could occur is if the disc is played at extremely loud levels, but this is no different to any other CD or LP played at extremely loud levels. The IsoTek Full System Enhancer disc is universally acknowledged as an industry standard for burn in CDs, it is multi-award winning and is also highly recommended by Teac Esoteric. We suspect that the manufacturer of your CD player is unfamiliar with our products and has made a general assumption. It is true some products on the market which are not properly designed and engineered can cause problems. This we stress is NOT the case with the IsoTek range, a fact which has been proven on countless occasions by numerous audio reviews and awards from many countries around the globe." 6moons audio reviews: IsoTek System Enhancer Of course, Teac - Esoteric later produced their own cd enhancer product and quietly stopped recommending the Isotek product, which rather suggests it works. I have Isotek, Sheffield XLO and Ayre burn in discs. I used them during initial burn in of my Thiel CS3.7
Revel Salon2, Magico Q3. I played at moderate level , none suffer from any damaged. Due to the way drivers of Q Series are attached, I don t wanna risk damaging any drivers as replacement Will be like replacing connecting rods in Ferrari V12. It took about 800 hours before my Q3 sound less tight. But really after a few action movies playback at high level In home theater set up that really make Q3 sound totally free from tightness. As a ,consequence I learnt that Q3 tiny woofers are too small for movie soundtrack, that was the reason for upgrade to 7. Then the never ending burn in process start once again. I will play FM station that run 24/7 to burn in new 7 to save CD optical drive from wear and tear. Mp3 playback from laptop is too risky as software may be crashed and Give out dangerous noise out while I away from home. I know in the end only by playing real music or movie with lots of hours of use is what make the burn in complete. Toga |

Thank you ,
Speakers are ready to be shipped. But I will be away from home for vacation. So I will have them shipped late part of May. Still some issue to solve, like how to connect my single wire cable into biwire Q7. What I can do now is to find the best jumpers out there to use. Toga |
