They still have it too, I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't know the name Monster Cable. It's ubiquitous.

I fondly remember Monster from the 1980s. The Monster M1 speaker cables I had really mated very well with my Infinity Reference 2A Speakers--rolled off the rising high frequency response to make these speakers sound quite good at higher volumes with a turntable. I can also remember a big improvement in sound replacing the stock wires on my Grace tonearm with Monster. However, I don't view Monster wires as competitive in todays hi-end market.
