About a year and a half ago, I was looking for a Wireworld dealer on the Internet and found (of course) Legend Audio-Visual. Made a call and Ivan answered the call, helped me out ordering me a Silver Starlight USB as I had just gotten a Mac Mini for a dedicated music server. Ivan said, you know I have this modest little forum and you might be interested in giving it a look (he really did describe AA that way). I've been a subscriber since shortly thereafter and at my first renewal, became an Aficionado (Hey, I'm Jewish-- I thought $100 was an incredible bargain for what I was getting. Can't refuse a bargain...)

Anyway, my name is Robert and am a native of South Florida and still live there (born in Miami Beach and now live on Coral Gables). I am an attorney who practices land use and local government law. I got started in high-end when a college roommate introduced me to this nice guy name Peter. He was became my drug dealer during college and the first few years right after. Oh, Peter was Peter McGrath. And I ended up with his personal Quads and a Linn Sondek LP-12 among other things. Then I got married and the Quads became Thiels due to WAF. Little else changed for about 28 years. I had the Thiels (CS2.3), and an old Classe pre, Bryston 2B and the Linn. I am married to a Latina who hates the site of wires and have two young adult daughters in college living at home. With that Mac Mini as a dedicated server and my Silver Starlight to an HRT Music Streamer Pro (and slipping in an Oppo BDP-95 for good measure), I started back (once an addict always an addict). With the help and counsel of Ivan (my enabler), I am the proud owner of a new Prima Luna Dialogue Premium Integrated Amp. My thanks to Dan-- whose review of a slightly earlier model Prima Luna Int Amp weighed heavily in my decision. My thinking is I need a new DAC to help the PL really sound its best and it already sounds freakin' incredible now (thanks Ivan, what a gem). So in a nutshell, that's my story. This forum is a great place to hang out-- so much so my wife calls it my porn.

Finally, I'm guessing about a year ago I posted a request for help when my American Bulldog puppy (affectionaltey named Wirekiller) ate my speaker wires. My avatar is the "Wirekiller" except that with the Prima Luna, now all she does is lay at my feet and grooves out when I am listening (hey, the pup has great taste in music and really good hearing to appreciate it with). And she has hasn't (thank god) shown any interest in the WW Silver Eclipse speaker cables that I got very slightly used (not anywhere near close to being broken in when I got them) from Ivan (what an incredible straight-up guy to do business with- but you know that).

Anyway, that is my story and I'm sticking to it (at last until I come up with a better one). Thanks for having me-- AA has become my second home (and my porn)
