I’ll be 51 in a few weeks and what exists beyond 15Khz is now a mystery to me. No need for super tweeters anymore!

I'm 57 and recently had a complete physical including an hearing check.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my hearing still goes out to 17khz...just barely.
Maybe its the fish oil...who knows!

I started playing guitar when I was 12 in 1965. Started buying high end audio gear in 1971 when I went to college. Started doing live sound mixing in 1974 and became a recording engineer in 1976. Worked full time doing live sound and recording until 2010 when I retired.

Last year I got hired to do live sound for a Contemporary Church Music band.

They hired me because the church knew the sound was bad. The PA system sounded awful when playing CD's and the guy mixing didn't have good ears.

I had to tune the PA system by ear (they didn't have any test equipment). I dialed in EQ, compression, gates etc on all the channels (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and several singers). I got compliments from a lot of people including a guy who owned a recording studio. I'm tuning 65 this year and my frequency response is OK but not great (I have a bit of that 4 kHz notch).

As the guy in the video says, that is not such a big deal. I have trained my listening skills for over three decades. I'd say my ears are still darn good.

At 70, my hearing leaves something to be desired. It seems that I have a problem within a frequency specific range. That in its self is not too bad but, It happens to be the frequency range my wife speaks within
