After a quick bout with congestive heart failure and 5-days in the hospital, finally got the ET3SE and Classic 60SE installed, biased and doing some listening. Delightful sonics. Terrific mid-range and a very 'fast' sound for tubes using the EL34s. So far, so good.

Here's a pic. Will eventually get everything well aligned and set. Not sure if I'll put the tube cage on. I'm a fan of looking at my tubes. Had another chat today with CJ as I wanted know why it was not using the KT120s rather than the EL34s. Is an amp that went back to the factory from the dealer for the SE upgrade rather than starting life as same. When they did the upgrade the dealer requested it stay with EL34s. I'll likely send it back to CJ once this set of tubes are worn out for a power supply change to allow it to run KT88/6550s. Or not. Time will tell.

Thank you. Good music and new gear always helps.

Have a NOS black plate RCA 6189 to roll in once I feel I've nailed down the sound of the system. Will then roll in a quad of GL KT77s to compare to the Mullard EL34s.

Very nice improvement in detail, depth of sound-stage and detail with the RCA 6189 & KT77s. However, a bit of a mismatch between the pre- and power amps. Can't turn the volume down as low as I would like it to go. So, tossing in a pair of 3db in-line attenuators between the two.
