Given I may be flogged for reviving an older thread (I can't post new ones apparently), Ryan, what are the measurements of your speaker positions and room? Looks like you have it toed-in to be at your sitting position or just slightly on the edges of your ears. Curious as they seem similar to my room dimensions as well.

The room is 17' 5/8" wide and 33' 1/2" long with a 9' ceiling. There is also an open hallway on the stage left side, too. As for the speakers' measurements, that's kind of a hard one to answer to get you where I think you're wanting to go.

I'm trained to do SF Masters sets, so they were placed by ear using that technique. The positioning is dependent on where they lock to the room, rather than an exact measurement from the walls. I've done a lot of placements in rooms that are close to the same size, and they're all in a slightly different spot to make them sing. Furniture, window coverings and acceptable protrusion into the space are all factors. I am lucky in that I don't have any limitations on where the speakers can be, so I was able to lock them into where they sound the best.

That said, they are roughly 36" from the side and back walls, give or take. I toed them in so that they meet at a point somewhere behind my listening position.

Whatever brand you're placing, be sure to take your time and move them in VERY tiny increments. This includes how you level them on the spikes once you've got the image centered. While I'm adept at doing placements myself, it's always faster and easier with another person moving while you're seated in your listening position to direct the movements.

If I recall - there's a thread out here somewhere that explains the technique. I absolutely swear by it. I've gotten far better results with this than any other method I've used.
