The BOP is, and always has been, an imperfect science and I dislike it. I will refrain from going further.
But Yes, the BMWs also were hampered.

Yes. BOP is imperfect, but what is the alternative with such different cars (DOHC, pushrod, front, mid & rear engine, etc.)?
