The 326s may be have very correctly described as a single box 32. The 32 definitely had a lower noise floor with the power components in another box and the power regeneration to boot.

Indeed the structure is the same but the 32 uses 2 AD797 opamps as the input of the instrumentation schematic. One of the lowest noise amps available. A bipolair design (no fets) and they can be a bit dark sounding. But the noise is low, very low.
