David, they do look serious.

Wladek advised acrylic feet. He says they are much better than other metal feet. I am a bit surprised but I trust him !

But do you let the grilles on your speakers ?
I do not remember seeing a pic of them here. Could you post one or point me towards the link ? Thanks !
Apparently he's actually called Cookie (her dog is called Flossy lol, that kind of house!), but we just call him Biggie, it suits his appetite

Grilles, yes always left on, in fact I've resisted even removing them for photos - AS insists they are meant to have the grilles in place, and on their stands these are well beyond claw reach There's a B&W shot in my Fuji X-M1 inbound thread in the photography section, but here's a colour one;

I'm pretty confident when I say only another pair of Harbeth's will replace these!!

Thanks a lot Jason !

The 40.1 help me big time to entertain me and think about something else. Their sound is both ultra natural and ultra resolved. I am rediscovering all my recordings.
They are a joy to listen to.
Paul, I wonder what you were looking for when you sold them. They are just M A R V E L L O U S.
Now listening to Joni Mitchell 's Blue, and she is with me in the room. The guitars are incredibly realist.
The sound of the Harbeths is the one of authenticity.
Pure pure bliss.
They are fast and full weighted at the same time. Transparent and detailed. Warm and neutral. Intimate and huge. They seem to take all the paradoxes of audio and melt them in a magic coktail. And I'm drinking without limits.
I felt in love....again !
Oh my G., what a wonderful hobby !

Those are among the very very best speakers I ever heard.
At their list price, an absolute bargain. More a gift than a bargain indeed.

It's a wonderful hobby indeed. I'm listening to Stolen Moments and I'm loving it. All the stress of the day is gone.

PS: I didn't quote the whole post but it's an excellent post

There is such passion in your post and it shows how you related to music. It's even poetic!

Without this passion, this hobby is pointless.
