Listening to Stax Omega2 mk1 right now with their SS energizer. We are up at the cabin for Easter and sometimes I am forced to forego the Ref 150/Duettes as the system is up in a loft and when guests are around my jazz selections are sometimes not welcome. I did build a whole system in my home study around the Stax 009. I use the Woo WES energizer fed by Moon 850P preamp. Sources are SME 20/3 with ASR Basis Ex phono, Naim CD555 and Naim streamer. Transparent Ultra XLR for all cables except Naim hi-line from CD555 and Graham IC70 XLR for phono cable. While I prefer my speakerbased systems this system will still provide goosebump moments and is remarkable at bringing you into the musical event.

In the master bedroom I use the Stax Omega 2 mk2 and the tube energizer fed by a naim streamer

I started with Stax lambda pros in 1990 in NYC apartment and have stayed with
Electrostatics ever since.

While I enjoy the Stax energizers....I highly recommend the Woo equipment...whole new level

I'm considering the Audeze LCD-3 to use with C1000T/MCD1100 combination. Anyone else out there with the LCD-3?

Also, now that Denon AHD7000 is discontinued, is it worthwile picking up a pair of these while they are still around?

Currently using Sennheiser PXC450. Great for the plane...but want to step it up for the C1000T/MCD1100. Not into the HD800, or any other Sennheiser for that matter as they sound a bit thin for me.

(WoW, I like these headphone stands too...)

I'm still happy being 'stuck' with the mid range Sony monitor range Mike, to whit the MDR-ZX700 which gives a hi fi tinge to my ,ahem, low fi Pure Evoke 'signature' DAB radio sd card vocal and opera recordings, and for my Sony-pre Brussel's volume body ban-Mp3 player, the even more mid range mdr-EX310LP IEM.

I can't listen to music at work, and I'm out the house a lot. That's my excuse, and your 1000 versions probably wouldn't stoop.

I have a pair of Senn PXC450s, too...I like them quite a bit as noise-cancelling headphones; I bought them specifically for that. I use them at work as I have a set of very noisy neighbors in the cubicles next to me who are on the phone all day long as they are a customer service center. I also use them on the plane and hotel when I travel for work. I also find them very comfortable to wear and they have a very nice headband. I think they are very neutral and pleasant to listen to, but not as musical or engaging as my Grados.

For "critical listening" at home I use my Grado SR225i's and Grado RA-1 head amp.
