I don't want to to hear that. I haven't even unpacked my demo 452 I picked up yesterday since it's so dang heavy.

My uncle (r.i.p.) was a big Mac user way back thirty years and more. You would never hear about these types of failures and defects. They seemed indestructible. Has McIntosh lost its way trying to appeal to the masses?

Unfortunately, a run of bad parts can happen to anyone. Talk to Mark Levinson amp owers just before the turn of the century. Just took my MB C350 in this morning for replacement of both front airbags. A 5hr job they will make no money on. Took them 24mon to receive the replacement parts. At least we could drive it (at our own risk).

It's why I have stopped paying for anything ahead of time. I have not had issues like this yet..

I have no first hand knowledge, but I have been thinking that the hissing reported by certain MA252 owners is QC--significant enough for some to return their units, insignificant enough for others that they scoff at the returns. Perhaps they're both right?

Yep, that was me. Totally DOA out of the box. The replacement is performing well, knock on wood.

This is disappointing to read this. I hope McIntosh is paying attention.
